Who could say no to an ethical, handcrafted, and sustainable soft hemp creation gracing their floor? We said hello to Armadillo & Co, the masters of these in-demand carpets on The Slowpoke a little while ago. They have an awe-inspiring array of rugs crafted of natural materials – jute, hemp, cotton and wool – and handmade by a team of dyers and weavers in India they work incredibly closely with.

Today they’re sharing this Dandelion rug – a true classic of theirs – with The Slowpoke for one lucky reader to win. Its hand-stitched soft Bangladeshi hemp  is ready and waiting to play host to the moments of your home that may lay ahead this year. From entertaining friends, laying around on a sunny afternoon with a book, a couple of cushions and a deck of cards, playing with the young ones, family dinners…

We want to hear what your home means to you in 2015. For your chance to win, head here to ‘like’ our Facebook page and enter the competition. (To like Armadillo & Co’s Facebook page too you can head here!) In all its 1.55 m diameter glory, the rug is worth $440. And, sorry international readers, due to shipping this one’s for Australian folk only. Good luck!

Hey guys. I love this blog and check it frequently. Just some feedback though – not everyone has (or wants) Facebook! In fact, I detest the stupid bloody thing! So any future comps that can be entered without having to ‘like’ something on Facbook would be much appreciated. Can this comment be my entry for the comp instead? Ha.

Otherwise – I love everything! Thanks for all the inspiration!

Hi Meg, Thanks for your feedback! Send us an email at hello@theslowpoke.com telling us in 25 words or less ‘what your home means to you in 2015’ and we’d be happy to accept it as your entry if you don’t have Facebook :)

Feeling so very happy to be retired, my home in 2015 will be my haven for crafting, reading and gardening, and my refuge between travels.

  • Leanne

Our home is always open to extended family and friends, and would love this rug to add to our deck area .

  • Sophie

Home to me: a refuge from the outside world, a place to share with my loved ones, and to entertain my friends around our small but cosy dinner table.

(ps. I’ve liked you on Facebook but prefer to comment here)

  • Danielle

My home (small apartment) is my place of cooking, laughter, music and memories. It’s a place of routine (coffee, breakfast and sleep) and freedom (wine, loud music and independence).

    My contented home haiku

    A slow Sunday afternoon
fat cat sat on the Armadillo mat & grimaced
is that really my belly? And so reclined.

  • Angela Grego

A place where we relish quiet. We go slow, listen to the eucalyptus leaves rustling in the breeze, and make memories of our growing family.
